Very few people sufficiently uncool enough to use the urban phrase “da bomb” anymore, except when it comes to the unique process and liquor combination known as “bombs.” The technique to create each one of these drinks is the same: combine liquor in a shot glass and drop the glass and all into a tumbler of something else. All alcohol consumption comes with a warning, but with these bombs it is unique: since you drink with the shot glass still submerged in the tumbler, do so with lips closed or risk knocking your teeth out.

Fill a tumbler with stout; combine Irish whiskey and Irish cream in a shot glass. Drop the shot glass into the stout and consume quickly (lest it curdle).
- 2 oz. Irish cream (Bailey’s)
- 2 oz. Irish whiskey (Jameson)
- 6 oz. stout (Guinness)
Jager Bomb
- 8 oz. energy drink (Red Bull)
- 2 oz. liqueur (jagermeister)
- Fill tumbler with energy drink, drop in liqueur.
Time Bomb
- 2 oz. white rum
- 1 oz. coffee liqueur (Kahlua)
- Cola (chilled)
Place rum and liqueur in a shot glass, gently submerge in tumbler of cola to preserve fizz.
Sake Bomb
- 2 oz. sake
- 4 oz. Japanese beer (Kirin Ichiban, or Sapporo, or Asahi)
Combine as above or balance the shot glass over beer on two round chopsticks. Someone must yell “bomb” at which time the drinker pounds fists on the table, sending the glasses of sake off their unstable perches and into the beer.
The Obama
- 8 oz. energy drink
- 2 oz. of orange flavor rum (Bacardi O)
- Splash of Orange Juice
Combine energy drink and splash of orange juice into glass; drop in shot glass of rum.
